Jennifer C. Van Syckle concentrates her practice in the area of employment law.  Ms. Van Syckle joined Jasinski, P.C. after practicing for several years in the labor/employment department of a major New York law firm.

Ms. Van Syckle has extensive experience in counseling clients on various issues arising under State and Federal Wage and Hour laws; and discrimination, harassment, and retaliation statutes such as Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, and New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act.  She spends a large portion of time counseling employers in preventative measures to avoid litigation. This work includes drafting and revising handbooks, manuals, employer practices, and employment procedures.


Ms. Van Syckle guides clients through a myriad of workplace related issues including leaves of absence, terminations, discipline, and reductions-in-force.  Ms. Van Syckle focuses on the review and creation of a multitude of agreements including  employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, separation agreements and non-competition agreements. 


Ms. Van Syckle's extensive experience has provided her with the tools and knowledge to defend management and carriers in litigations and administrative proceedings.  She has assisted employers in successfully resolving governmental wage and hour and classification audits.  She also is retained to conduct independent investigations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation claims.   

Ms. Van Syckle received her B.A. Degree from Manhattan College where she graduated magna cum laude and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  She earned her J.D. Degree from St. John’s University School of Law where she graduated cum laude and was a member of Law Review.  She is one of the founding members of the Asian Student Bar Association at St. John’s.  She was selected by her peers as a New Jersey Super Lawyer Rising Star in the employment litigation practice area.  She has co-authored several publications on restrictive covenants under her maiden name, Jennifer M. Chow.  Ms. Van Syckle is admitted to practice law in the Federal and State Courts of  New Jersey and New York, as well as the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
