Public Sector

Jasinski, P.C. has been successfully representing public entities, including municipal and county governments and school boards, for over 15 years in labor relations and in defense of legal actions.  We have effectively represented both public entities and employee defendants in lawsuits ranging from claims of discrimination to allegations of violations to Constitutional Rights.  We have successfully negotiated labor agreements with public sector unions, as well routinely providing advice regarding the interpretation of the agreements.  Our firm has also successfully defended any actions arising from the public employer/employee relationship including grievances, unfair practice charges, arbitrations, Administrative actions, and EEOC Complaints.  Our personal involvement and interest in our client’s success extends to attending and providing legal advice at public and executive session meetings.   We regularly appear in both Superior Court and Administrative Court, as well as in Arbitrations, Administrative Hearings and before the State of New Jersey Public Employment Retaliations Commission.

Our attorneys have established reputations for their ability to interact professionally and efficiently with elected officials, board members, administration, staff, and union representatives.  We excel at providing our clients with timely and responsive answers to their inquiries.  Our attorneys routinely advise clients regarding the risks and potential liabilities of taking adverse employment actions (i.e., employee discipline, transfers, terminations, tenure charges, increment withholdings, non-renewals and reductions-in-force.

Although we take an aggressive no-nonsense approach in defending the public entity and protecting taxpayer money, we also assist public entities in making well-reasoned decisions in these extremely challenging times that are in the best interest of all parties and the public.
